Boundaries
A poem for those who have suffered from people crossing boundries youve set.
I place boundaries to keep me safe
To protect the peace I fought so desperately for
Forged in the blood sweat and tears of my childhood
I place boundaries to hide from the memories
Buried deep within my mind
Of a boy roughly grabbed
Fingers digging into scrawny shoulders
Tears slipping from eyes full of betrayal and pain
One touch
One boundary crossed
Sends me back to those dark days
To a whimpering child
Blustering false bravado in the face of looming danger
The pain lingers in my soul
Echoes of the past ripped into the present
My body screaming in protest with every touch
Until the warrior within awakens
Rising off a blood soaked battlefield from days long forgotten
Once more called upon to protect the child buried inside.

This is greats!
